Wallpaper Removal
Removing wallpaper is easy to start and hard to finish well. The paper comes off, but the glue left behind, torn drywall face paper and gouges are what ruin the paint job that follows. Done right, the wall ends up smooth, clean and sealed.

Questions about wallpaper removal
Can you paint over wallpaper?
It's possible in some cases, but seams, bubbles and texture usually show and moisture from paint can loosen the paper. Removal gives a better, longer-lasting result.
What if the drywall tears?
Torn drywall face paper is sealed with a solvent- or shellac-based primer before patching so the paper doesn't bubble, then skimmed smooth.
Is the glue a problem?
Yes. Leftover paste can cause the new paint to crack or peel, so it has to be washed off completely before priming.
