LVP Flooring Installation
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is popular here for good reasons: it handles water, pets and kids well and comes in convincing wood looks. Whether it's glued down or a floating click floor, the result depends on the subfloor being flat, clean and dry, and on following the manufacturer's instructions.

Questions about lvp flooring installation
Glue-down or click: which is better?
Neither is better everywhere. Glue-down handles big rooms, rolling loads and temperature swings well and is often thinner; click floats, installs faster and is easier to replace. Our guide compares them in detail.
What wear layer should I get?
The wear layer is the clear top layer, measured in mils. Thicker generally means more scratch and wear resistance; 20 mil is a common choice for busy homes and pets, 12 mil for lighter use.
Can LVP go in a basement?
Often yes, which is one reason LVP is popular, but the slab should be tested for moisture and the product's limits checked first.
